These warnings are not required by FDA or other Federal agencies. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution we decide to adopt this marking in 2017 to alleviate any legal issues that could arise from an improperly marked product sold in California. Please note that PC and ABS plastics are not listed polymers under Prop 65, but the identified precursor chemicals are listed and in some cases these finished plastics may contain low levels of the chemical in the plastic. Prop 65 identifies Styrene as a chemical that can cause cancer. Our lighting products use Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic for battery carriers and other enclosures, and Styrene is a precursor chemical used to make ABS plastic. Prop 65 identifies BPA as a cause of reproductive toxicity. Our lighting products use Polycarbonate (PC) lenses for light projection, and Bisphenol A (BPA) is a precursor chemical used to make PC lenses. We believe that our products are completely safe for consumer use and if any Prop 65 listed chemicals were to be present, we believe they would be within the safe harbor levels for exposure as published by Prop 65. It worked for me! If you are looking for an instructional video just like all of the other ones then don’t buy this. $90 is two boxes of Pro V1x’s, and these videos have quite a long time to save me two dozen balls and pay for themselves. I’ve got about 60 days left in my 90-day trial. Solid contact, we should not forget, is the most basic fundamental. At $90, it’s still cheaper than a lesson, and AJ provides some basic common sense knowledge: that everyone, despite their abilities, has at least some natural skill necessary to apply the club to the back of the ball properly. With the extra videos, the PGA Tour Partners membership, and the candy bars – it’s a bit more iffy, but still no. Is AJ Reveals the Truth About Golf worth it? No, I can’t say that it is. The short game video has some interesting concepts, but they’re concepts I already apply (using different clubs for different length chips) or won’t be applying (flip and rotate your hands through impact on pitch shots). If you order on the phone or via AJ’s site, you get some candy bars, a PGA Tour Partners subscription, and some other videos: The Truth about the Short Game and The Truth about the Driver (Parts 1 & 2). Reminding yourself of that through this video series is time well spent. We’ve all got at least some motor skills necessary to hit the ball. David Duval doesn’t even look at the ball when he strikes it! The sacrilege! Every one of those players (and now David again) make solid contact, though. Seven players, seven very different swings. There’s no perfect swing: Arnold Palmer, Moe Norman, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd, Tom Lehman, Jim Furyk, Tiger Woods. If you’re making poor contact with the ball, you’re going to play poorly. The most basic fundamental is not stance, swing path, or any of the other number of things we’ve dreamed up. You’ve heard it a few other ways: get the toe up on the follow-through, rotate your right forearm over your left, etc.ĭespite the relative simplicity, AJ’s core message is one which bears repeating. That’s also basic physics AJ’s whole swing theory is basically this: release the club. An extreme outside-in or inside-out swing will have trouble hitting straight shots unless those straight shots are pulls or blocks. Why, the new player shaved 35 strokes from his game! Oh, wait, you mean it’s quite typical for new players to quickly shave strokes as they learn some fundamentals? Oh, well never mind then…ĪJ’s physics ignore the fact that you still need to approach the ball from a somewhat good path. The second part contains some information: that rotating the clubface through impact produces distance and accuracy, and that everyone can understand and apply that simple concept. The first 40 minutes includes a basic physics lesson you’ll be dying to fast forward. The 55-minute video can be broken down into two parts. In other words: rotating the face of the club from open to closed through impact. This doesn’t mean the videos are worthless: just that they didn’t help me a whole lot.ĪJ’s entire premise is that the face of the club is like a baseball bat, and that it too must be swung through the impact zone as a baseball bat (see “Da Bat”) would through a fastball. AJ did very little, if anything, to help my game. This is the part of the review in which – if it were an infomercial – I’d say “boy, was I wrong!” Unfortunately, I was not. I was skeptical that AJ Bonar could do much to help my game. I average about 275 off the tee when I’m playing well and have a relatively solid short game. I’m a 6-9 handicapper who has a slightly open stance, a strong grip, and a slight high draw. You’ve seen AJ’s “reduce your handicap by 30% and increase your drives by 30 yards in 90 days” guarantee. You’ve no doubt seen Da Bat and wondered just what point it might offer. If you watch The Golf Channel for any amount of time, you’ve seen either the 30-second, 60-second, or 30-minute commercials for AJ Reveals the Truth about Golf. So, if a community received funds last year and could not spend it all by March 31, they might not know what to do. One of the things I can see is that the money has to be spent by the end of March. So, why aren’t people applying? Last year this time, Health and Social Services had received 13 proposals, and all of the funds were eventually given out. And we all know the NWT has some of the highest rates of addiction in Canada. So, what gives? Simply by filling out an application form, communities can apply for up to $95,000 a year to hire a counsellor to work in the addictions field. What do you think of that? Well, I thought this might be a big reason why groups are not applying for the funds, but a quick check on the Executive and Indigenous Affairs website told me that every region is now negotiating self-government. 2 and Mathe door is open for community governing authorities and non-government organizations to also apply. 1, 2022, only Indigenous governments that have negotiated, or are now negotiating, self-government agreements can apply.īetween Sept. Communities can sure use counsellors to help fight addictions. It’s meant to help communities hire counsellors who will support people with addictions or support programs dealing with addiction recovery or aftercare. Let’s take a look at what the program is for. That means there is almost two thirds of the fund left.Īnd there’s only a little over four months left to spend it. Say what? Yup, the grant is called the Addictions Recovery and Aftercare Fund and apparently only about $350,000 of the money to work in addictions has been allocated. So, the Department of Health and Social Services has a $1-million fund to help communities hire counsellors, and they can’t seem to give the money away. JAN MOIR: Sizzling sex at 80? However, it’s important to know that wire transfers, both domestic and international, are subject to bank scrutiny.īanks must report all wire transfers over $10,000 using a Currency Transaction Report (CTR) and submit it to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). How Much Money Can You Send via Wire Transfer?īanks and credit unions set their own maximum daily limits for wire transfers. From there, you’ll enter the information mentioned above and transfer funds online without ever having to visit a branch. To start a wire transfer online, you generally need to log into your bank account and navigate to the section for transfers. How Do You Initiate a Wire Transfer Online? Whether you’re using a bank or third-party wire transfer provider, you’ll need guaranteed funds to initiate your transfer-the money you’re sending needs to be paid up front, funded either by your bank account or cash. If you initiate a wire transfer through a nonbank provider like Western Union or MoneyGram, you’ll typically need the recipient’s name, phone number and address. When you initiate a wire through your bank, you’ll generally need to provide the following: No matter the type of wire, there’s always a sending and receiving party and an entity in the middle facilitating the transfer. Today, wire transfers happen in a wide variety of ways beyond the telegraph wires of yesteryear. When looking for the best way to send money, it’s wise to review all the options-from wire transfers to P2P payment tools-to find the safest and most cost-effective fit for your transaction. For example, if your U.S.-based bank or credit union sends a wire transfer to a bank in Germany, it’s considered an international wire transfer. International wire transfers are those where the sending and receiving banks are located in different countries. For example, a wire sent from a bank in New York to one in California would be considered a domestic wire. Domestic Wire Transfersĭomestic wire transfers are sent and received in the same country of origin. Wire transfers are domestic or international, depending on where the transfer originates and its destination. That coded message authorized the release of funds to the person on the other end. The telegraph office would then send a coded message to the telegraph office closest to the recipient. To send money over long distances, customers would go to a telegraph office and make their payment. The term “wire transfer” goes back to when long-distance communication was done over telegraph wires. Most commonly, the term “wire transfer” refers to bank wires, which transfer money between banks using networks such as the Fedwire Funds Service (Fedwire for short) or Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). Rather than cash, the participating institutions share information about the recipient, the bank receiving account number, and the amount transferred.A wire transfer is a term that describes the electronic transfer of money. International wire payments are monitored by the Office of Foreign Assets Control to ensure the money isn't being wired to terrorist groups or for money laundering purposes. Most wire transfers can take as long as two business days to process.Senders pay for the transaction at the remitting bank and provide the recipient's name, bank account number, and the amount transferred.A wire transfer facilitates money transfers electronically across a network of banks or transfer agencies around the world. They discovered that they shared an interest in painting landscape and contemporary life rather than historical or mythological scenes. In the early 1860s, four young painters- Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frédéric Bazille-met while studying under the academic artist Charles Gleyre. The standards of the juries represented the values of the Académie, represented by the works of such artists as Jean-Léon Gérôme and Alexandre Cabanel. The Académie had an annual, juried art show, the Salon de Paris, and artists whose work was displayed in the show won prizes, garnered commissions, and enhanced their prestige. Colour was restrained and often toned down further by the application of a golden varnish. Paintings in this style were made up of precise brush strokes carefully blended to hide the artist's hand in the work. The Académie preferred carefully finished images that looked realistic when examined closely. Historical subjects, religious themes, and portraits were valued landscape and still life were not. The Académie was the preserver of traditional French painting standards of content and style. In the middle of the 19th century-a time of change, as Emperor Napoleon III rebuilt Paris and waged war-the Académie des Beaux-Arts dominated French art. By recreating the sensation in the eye that views the subject, rather than delineating the details of the subject, and by creating a welter of techniques and forms, Impressionism is a precursor of various painting styles, including Neo-Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and Cubism. The public, at first hostile, gradually came to believe that the Impressionists had captured a fresh and original vision, even if the art critics and art establishment disapproved of the new style. Encompassing what its adherents argued was a different way of seeing, it is an art of immediacy and movement, of candid poses and compositions, of the play of light expressed in a bright and varied use of colour. The Impressionists, however, developed new techniques specific to the style. Impressionism emerged in France at the same time that a number of other painters, including the Italian artists known as the Macchiaioli, and Winslow Homer in the United States, were also exploring plein-air painting. Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette ( Bal du moulin de la Galette), 1876, Musée d'Orsay, one of Impressionism's most celebrated masterpieces. They portrayed overall visual effects instead of details, and used short "broken" brush strokes of mixed and pure unmixed colour-not blended smoothly or shaded, as was customary-to achieve an effect of intense colour vibration. The Impressionists found that they could capture the momentary and transient effects of sunlight by painting outdoors or en plein air. Previously, still lifes and portraits as well as landscapes were usually painted in a studio. They also painted realistic scenes of modern life, and often painted outdoors. They constructed their pictures from freely brushed colours that took precedence over lines and contours, following the example of painters such as Eugène Delacroix and J. Radicals in their time, early Impressionists violated the rules of academic painting. Turner's atmospheric work was influential on the birth of Impressionism, here The Fighting Temeraire (1839) The development of Impressionism in the visual arts was soon followed by analogous styles in other media that became known as impressionist music and impressionist literature. The name of the style derives from the title of a Claude Monet work, Impression, soleil levant ( Impression, Sunrise), which provoked the critic Louis Leroy to coin the term in a satirical review published in the Parisian newspaper Le Charivari. The Impressionists faced harsh opposition from the conventional art community in France. Impressionism originated with a group of Paris-based artists whose independent exhibitions brought them to prominence during the 1870s and 1880s. Impressionism was a 19th-century art movement characterized by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, unusual visual angles, and inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience. This painting became the source of the movement's name after Louis Leroy's article, " The Exhibition of the Impressionists", satirically implied that the painting was, at most, a sketch. Impression, Sunrise, an 1872 Claude Monet oil on canvas painting now housed at Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. For other uses, see Impressionism (disambiguation).
